Day 17: 100 Days Without Sweets (Caving into the PB & J)
If a food is in your house, you’re going to eat.
I’m a firm believe of this.
If I have junk food in my house it is just a matter of time before I’ll eat it – my willpower only lasts so long.
After telling myself I would try and stick to eating mostly lean proteins and veggies I caved on day 17 and ate couple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (An all-time favorite of mine).
During the previous few days I’d come home, see the bread on the counter, jelly in the fridge, peanut butter in the pantry, and I’d resist the temptation.
On day 17 I came home and wanted something quick to eat, so what did I do?
I made some quick, easy, and delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches of course – if a food is in your house, you’re going to eat it.
It was inevitable that I would eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it just took enough time and a moment of weakness.
This type of situation is one that we all run into.
It may not be with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (Which really aren’t too bad for you, but they aren’t ideal either), but it may be with other foods that don’t bring you closer to your goals.
How can we stay on track?
Keep those foods out of your house.
The more you can make your kitchen your stronghold of nutrition, the better off you’ll be.
I can definitely work on this as well, but anyone can learn from this idea and use it to ensure continued success in healthy eating.
