Day 22: 100 Days Without Sweets (Business as usual)
Business as usual on day 22.
My go-to breakfast has been eggs and day 22 was no different.
Typically I’ll cook them over hard just to minimize the amount of clean up I have to do which comes into play when I’m eating them almost every day.
I’m amazed at the amount of time I have been going between meals on different days of my 100 day challenge.
In the past, going any more than 3 or 4 hours between eating used to seem impossible, but now I’m doing that on a daily basis.
I can attribute this to simply becoming really busy at work and with side projects I’m working on – there simply hasn’t been time to eat more frequently.
I’m finding myself engulfed in my work and not even thinking about my hunger levels. Now, this isn’t an every day thing, but it’s becoming a more frequent occurrence.
Take a look at how day 22 went:
- 7:00 a.m. 4 Eggs, Pepper-Jack Cheese, Ham
- 1:45 p.m. 1 Grilled Chicken Sandwich, 1 Italian Sausage (With bun), 2 Peanut Butter Roll Ups (Peanut butter on small corn tortilla shells)
- 7:30 p.m. Cottage Cheese
Again, nothing too crazy happened on day 22. I was actually at the coffee shop most of the day working on a new project which explains the nearly 7 hour gap between my first and second meal.
To be honest though, I really wasn’t even that hungry between breakfast and lunch – a rarity for me.
Getting through another weekend is always an accomplishment for me and I’m glad I made it through unscathed.
However, a big obstacle to overcome this week is Summerfest. This normally involves eating plenty of great-tasting yet unhealthy food. We’ll see how I manage.
In the mean time, day 23 is underway and I’m staying strong!
