Day 4: 100 Days Without Sweets (But plenty of chicken and broccoli)
100 Days Without Sweets – Day 4 was yesterday.
This day wasn’t too bad.
I am, however, finding it more and more difficult to even write about sweets, as this makes me want them. Aside from that, the temptations were limited.
4 days in and I’ve already noticed how much sweeter fruit tastes to me – one of the side affects I figured would happen once I gave up eating sweets.
My overall eating habits have also improved throughout the challenge already – I find myself much more motivated to eat healthier.
It has been very encouraging to see more and more people join my Just Go Fitness – 100 Day Challenge Facebook group and commit to their own challenge for 100 days! My hopes are that at least 100 people will commit to a 100 day challenge and follow through with it – only time will tell!
As for what I did eat yesterday take a look:
- 6:30 a.m. 3 Eggs, 6 oz. Ham Steak, Spinach, 1 Slice Pepper-jack Cheese
- 9:00 a.m. 2 oz. Mixed Nuts, Apple
- 12:05 p.m. 8 oz. Chicken, Broccoli
- 5:45 p.m. 8 oz. Chicken, Broccoli
- 7:30 p.m. 2 Rotisserie Chicken Legs, Banana
You’ll notice I eat A LOT of chicken and broccoli. I cook enough chicken for a few days, so I can easily take it to work with me. I also buy frozen broccoli and simply heat it up in the microwave (Steamer bags make it easy).
In my opinion, the easiest way to eat healthier is to prepare food ahead of time.
I have my food prepared beforehand and simply have to reheat it when I’m hungry. This takes a little more time to prepare things ahead of time, but it is well worth it to keep your diet on track. Now, I don’t do this for every single meal, but doing it most of time is very helpful.
So far, so good on this 100 day challenge. Only 96 more days to go 😉
