Day 6: 100 Days Without Sweets (My first restaurant experience of the challenge)
Yesterday was the most unhealthy day of eating thus far on my 100 Days Without Sweets challenge. Do I feel bad about it? Not at all!
Take a look at my day 6 eats:
- 6:00 a.m. 3 Eggs, Avocado, Spinach
- 10:15 a.m. 8 oz. Chicken, 1 oz. Mixed Nuts, 1 Bag Mini Carrots, Banana
- 2:15 p.m. 9 oz. Chicken, 12 oz. Bag of Broccoli, Apple
- 7:00 p.m. 4 Mozzarella Sticks, 3 Pieces of Deep Dish BBQ Chicken Pizza (Dinner with friends at Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom – Green Bay)
Overall, this day of eating went well.
Sure, the pizza and mozzarella sticks weren’t the healthiest, but normally I would have ordered dessert as well.
I’ll take that small victory!
This 100 day challenge is without a doubt testing my willpower, but the funniest part about it has been my friends’ attempts to derail me.
Take, for example, dinner last night.
I’m at the restaurant with two of my friends, we’re eating pizza, chatting it up, having a good time, and sweets aren’t at all on my mind.
We finish eating, are sitting around talking, and what does my friend do?
She picks up the dessert menu and nonchalantly reads aloud the entire detailed description of one of Old Chicago’s decadent desserts – well played.
I can’t help but laugh at her attempt.
No more than a minute later our waiter comes to our booth and asks us if we want dessert. He has no idea why my friends and I instantly start laughing, but we politely decline to order any.
I assume my friends will provide many more distractions in the next 94 days, but it’s actually rather entertaining and will make completing the challenge that much sweeter 😉
Curiously, I want to see how many of my friends will undertake their own 100 day challenge.
Day 6 provided plenty of laughs and I’ve continued to stay the course.
I’m not yet through my first week, but I’m getting there. We’ll see what that rest of my first weekend brings!
