Day 8: 100 Days Without Sweets (The first full weekend complete)
Looking back on day 8 yesterday of my 100 Days Without Sweets challenge I find that going without sweets is having a profound affect on other choices I make.
Also, posting what I eat each day for you fine folks has made me think twice about what foods I eat (Thank you!).
Even though I’m not consuming sweets, I could still be eating junk and consuming way too much, but I’m not.
Taking sweets out of my diet has enabled me to control my food portions much more easily and really be in tune with when I actually feel full.
I’m finding this challenge to be a great example of how one good decision leads to another and I’m really happy so far with how it is going.
Here is a look at what I actually ate on Day 8:
- 3 p.m. 4 Eggs, 12 oz. Broccoli, 5 oz. Chicken Breast
- 6 p.m. 7 oz. Cod, 12 oz. Broccoli/Cauliflower Mix, 2 oz. Almonds
- 9:15 p.m. 3 Eggs, 1 oz. Almonds
On day 8 I started eating really late, but I also woke up later than normal and had eaten late the night before so I really wasn’t that hungry in the morning.
Being away from home the previous two days led to me slacking in the veggie department, so I made sure to eat plenty of veggies on day 8. Most of the time I make an entire steamer bag of veggies in the microwave and eat that. It’s the easiest way for me to get veggies in my diet because it is super simple and takes 5 minutes or less.
Overall, I’m happy with the food choices I made this weekend and I’m excited to start another day on this challenge 🙂
